Dr. Amrita Roy a National Med Student "Champion" (May 2021)

The Canadian Federation of Medical Students (CFMS) has recognized Dr. Amrita Roy as a CFMS Culture Changers Champion for her contribution to a positive learning environment. Each year, the federation accepts nominations from medical students who would like to acknowledge “Culture Changers” — residents and physicians who have made lasting impacts on their medical education. Dr. Colleen Grady Funded through INSPIRE-PHC (April 2021)

Dr. Colleen Grady (DBA) has received $60K from INSPIRE-PHC to respond to an AHRQ (Applied Health Research Question). She is PI for the project “How can Primary Care come together in common purpose to enable effective and engaged decision making in Ontario Health Teams?” (April 2021)

Students Recognize Dr. Fil Gilic (April 2021)

Dr. Fil Gilic, course director, Nightmares FM, MEDS 115, and Airway Mastery (CCFP-EM), has received the Queen’s School of Medicine's Aesculapian Society Lectureship Award. This is the sixth time Dr. Gilic he has won this student-selected award in his seven years teaching the MEDS115: Foundations of Family Medicine course. (April 2021)

Dr. Kelly Howse Receives OMA Mentor Award (April 2021)

KTI Site Director Dr. Kelly Howse has received the Ontario Medical Association's Mentor for Students and Residents Award. Presented to one recipient in Ontario each year, this award recognizes outstanding contributions that have significantly benefitted the province’s medical students or residents. (April 2021)

Dr. Erin Beattie Earns PARO Teaching Award (March 2021)

Dr. Erin Beattie has earned this year’s PARO Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award for Queen’s University. This award acknowledges the essential role good clinical teachers play in training new physicians. Among a wide variety of other criteria, selection is based on interest in trainees’ personal development and well-being, quality of clinical and bedside teaching, and teaching at a high academic level.
