Dr. Ian Casson Receives Steve Cutway Accessibility Award

The Human Rights and Equity Offices at Queen’s University announced Dr. Ian Casson as the 2017 recipient of the Steve Cutway Accessibility Award. Established in 2008, the award acknowledges the efforts of faculty, staff and students who demonstrate creativity, enthusiasm, innovation and commitment to creating a learning and work environment in which persons with disabilities at Queen’s enjoy full participation.  

Drs. Karen Schultz and Eva Purkey Receive CFPC Awards

Dr. Karen Schultz, Program Director, Postgraduate Education, and Dr. Eva Purkey, Program Director, Global Health, received Canadian Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) recognition at Family Medicine Forum on November 11, 2017. 

Dr. José Pereira Inaugural Gilchrist Chair in Palliative Care Research

Dr. José Pereira has joined the department's Bowmanville-Oshawa-Lakeridge site as inaugural Gilchrist Chair in Palliative Care Research, Queen’s Faculty of Health Sciences. Dr. Pereira is recognized for his outstanding achievements and dedication to his work in family medicine and palliative care. Dr. Karen Schultz Earns CFPC Leadership Award

Dr. Karen Schultz has earned this year's College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Jim Ruderman Academic Family Medicine Leadership Award. Named in honour of Dr. Jim Ruderman, Chief of Family Medicine at Toronto’s Women’s College Hospital (WCH) from 1992 to 2014, this award recognizes outstanding family physician academics who embody qualities including wisdom, equanimity, compassion, and the capacity to attract and mentor talented individuals and forge them into a dynamic and productive team.
