The Queen’s Care of the Elderly (COE) program is fully accredited as a Category 1 Enhanced Skills Program of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). Our program is affiliated with the Department of Family Medicine and is based in Kingston, Ontario. The length of the program is twelve months.
Dr. Kate Trebuss is the Care of the Elderly Program Director. Dr. Craig Goldie is the Program Director for the Department of Family Medicine Enhanced Skills Programs.
Queen’s COE residents complete most of their rotations at Providence Care Hospital (PCH), a state-of-the-art health care facility completed in April 2017. Providence Care is a subacute care hospital that offers both inpatient and outpatient services. It is Southeastern Ontario’s leading provider of specialized care in aging, mental health and rehabilitation. Over the course of the program, COE residents may also spend time at other local hospitals (primarily Kingston Health Sciences Centre), in other outpatient clinics and outreach services in the community, and in long-term care facilities, depending on their goals.
