Queen’s Family Medicine-Emergency Medicine (FM-EM) has partnered with Cornwall Community Hospital (CCH) in a training program that comes with a two-year return of service contract.
The hospital and its foundation will fund the initiative, which will see CCH become an official training site of the Queen’s FM-EM program. Along with rotations at Kingston Health Sciences Centres and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, residents will train for six months in Cornwall. The program will welcome its first two residents in July 2019, and a third in July 2020.
Dr. Geoff Hodgetts, Queen’s Family Medicine Enhanced Skills Program Director, and Dr. Joey Newbigging, the department’s Emergency Medicine Program Director, are quoted about the partnership in this news article in the Cornwall Standard Freeholder.
