Dr. Karen Schultz Earns CFPC Leadership Award

Dr. Karen Schultz has earned this year's College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) Jim Ruderman Academic Family Medicine Leadership Award. Named in honour of Dr. Jim Ruderman, Chief of Family Medicine at Toronto’s Women’s College Hospital (WCH) from 1992 to 2014, this award recognizes outstanding family physician academics who embody qualities including wisdom, equanimity, compassion, and the capacity to attract and mentor talented individuals and forge them into a dynamic and productive team. Dr. Ruth Wilson Co-Chairs National Taskforce to Advance Rural Family Medicine

Dr. Ruth Wilson is co-chair of a national physician taskforce that has designed a road map for improving health care equity and accessibility for Canada’s underserviced rural population. Residency Program First to Win PARO Award Twice

The Queen's Department of Family Medicine's Postgraduate Education program has earned the 2016 PARO (Professional Association of Residents of Ontario) Residency Program Excellence Award, making it the first program to win twice. The program won this award in 2012, and was nominated in 2013 and 2015.
