Key responsibilities: Attending physician responsible for providing patient care to individuals within the Providence Care Complex Medical Management Program.
Leading Division of Hospital Medicine within the Department of Family Medicine.
Creating and providing educational opportunities for residents, medical students, and staff interested in hospital medicine.

About Me: Dr. Rashid is a Pakistani-Canadian who gained his medical degree from Rawalpindi Medical University in Pakistan in 2006. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency training in Qatar and later family medicine residency training at the University of Ottawa in 2017.
Dr. Rashid subsequently joined the Queen’s Department of Family Medicine in 2019 when he played a key role in establishing the first academic division of hospital medicine in Canada, becoming the inaugural division chair. He also took on the role as the clinical director for the Complex Medical Program and Providence Transitional Care Centre at Providence Care in Kingston. He was awarded The College of Family Physicians of Canada Annual Award of Excellence in 2022 for creating the Division of Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Rashid has a passion for medical education, interprofessional education, collaborative practice, and teaching hospital medicine. He also completed his Master of Health Professions Education from Queen’s University in 2022.
