Vision Care


  • OHIP covers annual eye examinations (every 12 months) for individuals below 20 and over 65 years of age
  • Individuals 20 to 65 may receive an OHIP-insured eye examination if they have one of the following specified medical conditions: diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, cataract, retinal disease, amblyopia, visual field defects, corneal disease, strabismus, recurrent uveitis or optic pathway disease

  • IFHP will provide some financial coverage towards eye exams and eye wear

  • IMPORTANT: You must approach vision care providers that are registered with Medavie Blue Cross as IFHP-approved providers to receive coverage.
