Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN)
The CSPC Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN) is one of Canada's largest practice-based primary care research networks and includes membership of family doctors across the South East Local Health Integration Network (SELHIN) region.
The emphasis of our PBRN activities is on chronic disease management and prevention, and on providing family doctors practice level information on their patient population to facilitate improved care and quality of life. Many of our PBRN projects are conducted through the regional Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network (CPCSSN), Canada's first multi-disease chronic disease management data repository.
The Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network (CPCSSN)
The Centre for Studies in Primary Care is one of the ten networks from across Canada involved in the Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network.
The Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network (CPCSSN) operates as a network of practice based research networks from various locations across Canada extracting primary health care data from sentinel physicians electronic medical records (EMRs) for the purpose of chronic disease surveillance.
Dr David Barber and Dr Sabrina Wong are Co-Directors for the CPCSSN project, and Dr David Barber is the Regional Director. If your practice is based in the SELHIN region and you would like to learn about how CPSSN can support with chronic disease management and research please contact Dr. Barber.
