Queen's Family Medicine Residency
Welcome! Our goal at the Department of Family Medicine is to prepare you to be a confident and comprehensive family physician with the skills to practice family medicine anywhere. We offer a program that will challenge and encourage you to become competent in the full scope of family medicine: office and community-based care; inpatient medicine; emergency medicine; chronic and long-term-care; obstetrics; urban and rural practice; and the psychosocial aspects of medicine, for all age groups and all populations.
Our program is offered at four different training sites (Kingston & 1000 Islands, Belleville-Quinte, Peterborough-Kawartha and Queen’s-Bowmanville-Oshawa-Lakeridge). Each site has its own unique curriculum, but we are all united under the same goals of competent and comprehensive family practice. Four sites, one vision. I encourage you to learn more about each site through these web pages, and to visit them in person if you have the chance. We also offer extensive PGY3 programs that will take your learning even further.
We strive to offer a flexible and innovative program that respects you as an adult learner and works with you to fulfill your professional goals. We seek prospective residents who are committed to family medicine, and who bring a variety of experiences and talents that will help enhance their own development as a physician and their colleagues’ learning as well.
If you have any questions, please contact me or our program staff. I look forward to hearing from you!
