After Hours Care
You must be a patient of the Queen’s Family Health Team to attend our After Hours Clinic.
The Queen's Family Health Team, including our After Hours Clinic, will operate on a limited schedule on many days over the Christmas holidays, and we'll be closed on some days we are normally open.
All clinics (including After Hours) between December 22, 2018, and January 1, 2019, will take place at 220 Bagot St. (and 115 Clarence St. will be closed).

The Queen's Family Health Team After Hours Clinic is located at Haynes Hall, 115 Clarence St. This building is at the corner of Clarence and Bagot streets, across from the post office and on the south side of Bagot. It is wheelchair- and stroller-friendly with an accessible slope from the street level. The clinic is on the second floor, accessible, via the elevator or stairs.
The clinic is open to QFHT patients Monday to Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. It offers both booked and drop-in appointments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I see my doctor?
Possibly. Almost all of our doctors work in the After Hours Clinic (AHC), so you might see your doctor there, or you might see one of our other physicians. Similarly, all of our resident physicians(residents) work in the AHC, so you might see your resident (the specific resident assigned to you) or you might see a resident from another clinical area at the QFHT. In any case, whomever you see will have access to your records and will be able to notify your family doctor about any changes or issues.
Who works in the After Hours Clinic?
The After Hours Clinic is staffed by faculty physicians (like your family doctor) and residents. Sometimes, we also have medical students who are working with the resident and the faculty physician. The medical students work in the AHC as part of their medical training and work under the close supervision of the resident (who, in turn, works under the close supervision of the faculty physician). The medical students often help with taking patients' medical history, so you will likely see them at the beginning of your appointment.
Will I be seen right away?
It depends. Generally, we take patients on a “first come, first served” basis. However, there will be times when we have to see patients based on how sick they are. (For example, a baby with a fever will be seen right away, regardless of when he/she arrived.) We do try to see patients as quickly as possible and the wait time will vary based on how busy the clinic is on any night. For example, Monday nights tend to be busier. A survey done in October 2012 found that our median “cycle time” (i.e. the time from when you walked in the door until the time you left) ranged from 58 to 89 minutes.
